Controls Engineer
Role and Responsibilities:
-
Analyze plant processes, design, and implement improvements.

Troubleshooting issues with hardware and processes.
-
Work with others to detect problems and implement solutions.
-
Maintain quality and safety standards.
-
Responsible for programming automation and controls systems involving PLCs and HMI’s.
-
Lay out logic and control systems.
-
Design and modify new and existing process controls, automation, and instrumentation systems.
-
Research electrical/electronic components & systems for use in industrial and shipboard applications.
-
Install Programmable Logic Controllers on new and existing equipment.
-
Experience with drives, motors, and motor controls.
-
Possess a good understanding of sensors.
-
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
-
Documenting work and maintaining records, backup copies of programs, and parameter sets for the plant.
-
Assisting in the training of staff related to controls systems.
-
Domestic and International travel required.
Qualifications:
-
Minimum B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering Technology.

Four years of experience in a related field.

Must be experienced in PLC logic and programming. Preferred experience in Siemens TIA Portal software for S7-1200/S7-1500 PLC’s and HMI’s.

Working knowledge of drafting tools or AutoCAD.

Ability to apply circuit analysis, voltage drop, and load calculations.

Proficient in MS Office: (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Strong cause-effect analytical abilities to solve problems.

Excellent communication skills.
